Ok, so DanceMatt did us a presentation on blog’s and me being me couldn’t get my head round all the technical stuff he was going on about (Sorry DM). But there was some stuff I could get my head round, some pretty interesting stuff. I know that my blog is not likely to be receiving 1000′s of hits a day. But can you imagine if it was. Imagine the extra work that this would generate. Hold on, what on earth would I write about to generate such interest. This is where DM’s comment “bringing something new to the table or a shared opinion well thought out” is most relevant.
As i flick through the blog’s randomly in blogger and wordpress I am struck by the utter amount of crap that people deem worthy of sharing with the world. Dont get me wrong I wouldn’t be sharing my opinions in this way if it was’nt for it being a college project. But it shocks me how many people out there are spewing out all their thoughts and opinions of their own free will and more’s the point how many more people are reading them.
I don’t know, its possibly because I have only just started looking at blogs and dont know all the cool blog’s to hang out at. Or maybe i’m just not turned on by them but I cant seem to feel excited about producing my own. No i think its because i have nothing i want to share, I’m not promoting a product, trying to generate interest in anything and i’m not some weirdo attention seeker.
So how hard was it? Not hard at all. I signed up waited over 24 hours for the confirmation email and then I was in. I had no idea what to do next though! I managed to select a layout that I will be happy to use until I have the know how to personalise and inprove my blog further. But after that i’m like “Hey i’m sure i’m missing something”.
Its Saturday and the best day in the week i get to sit down and simply be at the computer so I’ve started by logging my initial experience of blogging. This for me is a great way to start learning because I will post all that I aim to do with my blog as and when the notion hits me and then hopefully the result will be visible in the blog.
So first things first. I will be using this blog in a number of ways. For now I want to A. Record my blog experience B. post the research into “How modern technology is changing the Blah”…. that I generate as part of my college project. So guess it would help if I can allocate these two issues there own space within my blog. I’v got no idea how so i’m gonna hit the forums see if anyone else has done the same.
